None of them quite fit? Send us the closest one and your file.

A template is the right answer when your problem is a blank page — you know which numbers you want to track but not how to lay them out. It is the wrong answer when a workbook already exists and is failing, which is a different job and needs someone to look at your actual file.

Every template here is built the same way: inputs, calculations and output kept in separate sheets, no constants buried inside formulas, and a README tab explaining what to change. Each page shows the worksheet layout, the formulas that do the work and a worked example, so you can judge the fit before downloading.

Are these templates really free?

Yes. Every template on this page is free to download and use commercially, with no account and no email required. We build custom spreadsheets for a living; the templates exist because a good starting point removes the enquiries where a template was all anyone needed.

Do they work in Google Sheets as well as Excel?

Both. The formulas are written to work in Excel 2016 and later and in Google Sheets, which means avoiding a handful of functions that exist in only one of the two. Where a template genuinely needs an Excel-only feature such as Power Query, its page says so.

Can I get one adapted to my own data?

That is most of what we do. Send us the template you want changed and a sample of your data, and you get a fixed quote within 15 minutes and the adapted workbook within 24 hours.

How do I choose between two similar templates?

Each template page shows the actual worksheet layout, the formulas that do the work and a worked example with real numbers, so you can tell in about a minute whether it matches how you work before downloading anything.
